Texas

Gateway began its partnership with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in 1992, and is now the largest non-profit provider of contract substance use disorder treatment services for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). Gateway operates eleven (11) programs housed in correctional facilities throughout the state, including: three (3) Texas Department of Criminal Justice Special Needs Substance Abuse Felony Punishment Facilities (SAFPFs); four (4) Regular Needs SAFPFs; three (3) In-Prison Therapeutic Communities (IPTCs); and, one (1) Intermediate Sanction Facility (ISF). Gateway also contracts with the Community Supervision and Corrections Department for Harris County and Dallas County to operate and provide supervision and treatment at Community Corrections facilities in the greater Houston and Dallas areas.
