Criminal justice research has long since proven the correlation between substance abuse and crime. Statistics regarding the percentage of inmates with substance abuse problems typically ranges from 60%-80%, depending on the study reviewed. In the late 70's and early 80's, our experience in Cook County Jail and the Illinois Department of Corrections taught us how to modify our treatment methodology into an effective forensic model.
