Community Re-Entry / Transition Programming
The transition to the community is the most delicate part of the correctional treatment process for the substance abusing offender. All change initiated within the in-custody correctional treatment episode must be reinforced as the client prepares to return home. When at all possible, residential transition services should be provided for clients with a higher risk of relapse and a return to a criminal lifestyle.
Historically, Gateway Foundation's residential programs have always provided ''transition'' services by virtue of treating clients referred by criminal justice entities upon their release from incarceration. More directly, the Corrections Division has provided offender-specific transitional/re-entry residential treatment for nearly a decade. Our early work with the
Texas Department of Criminal Justice resulted in Gateway providing Transitional Treatment Center (TTC) services in Dallas, Texas in 2001, and the service delivery system in that location has grown to the point that the Gateway Dallas facility is now a fully-dedicated TTC.
Current growth strategies are focused on expanding our transitional re-entry services into new markets. Click here to view Gateway's current community re-entry / transition programming locations.
